April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born July 4 on the 4th of July, 1995. At the age of seven she began taking piano and guitar lessons. The lessons ignited her interest to write songs. In the teen years, April wrote her first tune Different. At 14, April spent lots of time writing lyrics and perfecting her musical capabilities. In the following months she began to take notes along with her father, and her father to LA or NY. April began including other topics in Take My hand for those of her peers who struggled issues with bullying, disabilities or even suicide. Lockhart is a lifestyle and beauty influencer who is gaining a loyal following. Lockhart is associated with the renowned brand Ilia with whom she has a partnership and is also a lifestyle expert. The disability she has is part of her personality, but it's not the complete image. Lockhart isn't shy about mentioning her disability through her Instagram page, but she doesn't make it the focus of the account. The message? That we all contain multitudes and that we are all unique and that we are more than just our physical self. Lockhart declared in video form that she does not want to be defined by her disability. She doesn't wish to be a disability advocate one who focuses only on it. There are so many aspects to Lockhart. My daily life isn't impaired by the disability. I just live my normal daily life, and come up with myself solutions for problems. This is a major element of my life which is why it's crucial for us to speak about it. Lockhart is a true source of inspiration for self-acceptance in general and is currently on a lengthy journey to achieve it. However, she acknowledges going through a series of phases in her body not being confident in wearing particular types of clothes which showed off her arms. Nowadays, she can wear whatever she'd like. and she shares her pictures to social media. Self-love she said is a process. "I doubt you'll be in that place," she said. It's a long journey. I'm not convinced that you will ever get there. People you spend time with who truly know you and see right into your soul are those that will help you remember why it's important.
